BoomSkins – Music Suggestion

So, I don’t produce enough skins to post information about BoomSkins ever single day, so, I decided to talk about some things you may do with your iPhone, iPod or Mac Book laptop. That way we can keep content fresh and maybe keep some of you guys coming back. Anyways, so today I’m going to chat about a new album I came across while browsing iTunes.

The band is “Discovery” and the album is called LP. It’s a great edition to your electronic / techno collection. It’s an amazing album with tons of nice beats, beeps, and treats. New Year, New Skins

Hey guys! It’s been a long while since my last update. We have been very busy over the holidays. We have started to sell out of a couple of our skins. This is good and bad. It’s bad because, you can’t currently get those skins for your laptops, phones or ipods but it’s good because we are going to be ordering some more as well as adding a new design. We won’t be releasing the design / artist just yet but we will keep everyone posted very soon. In the mean time, I know a ton of you received iPods and iPhones for Christmas and maybe even a couple of your got a MacBook Pro or two. You need to get you a skin now! It’s necessary, trust me, I know what I’m talking about. Thanks again for all of your support and purchases, we really appreciate it!

Underwater Laptop Skin – New Product

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that we have added a new product to the store. A new Apple Laptop skin by Darya Stupina, it is the bomb!! If you don’t have anything on your bland, boring laptop then you need to pick one of these up as soon as you can. We only have a limited supply of these skins, so hurry! We offer this skin for the following laptops:

We are aware that apple has released a new MacBook that has a polycarbonate casing, our skins have not been tested on these and are assuming that the adhesive will not stick.

Our Protective iPhone Skins

Our protective iPhone skins have been the top seller since we have opened up online and we can’t blame the customers, it’s an amazing product. You can obviously see how they can affect the visuals of your iPhone but some people may not know much further than that. Here’s some background info on our iPhone, iPod and laptop skins.

- They are made from 3m vinyl adhesive – similar to what car wraps are made of.

Laptop Skins, iPhone Skins, & iPod Skins via BigCartel

It has been almost two weeks since we launched and we are still making headway. It’s been slow and steady but we are inching forward and a lot of it has to do with the commerce solution that BigCartel provides. BigCartel is awesome!

I have to say, when I started brainstorming ideas for an online presence with BoomSkins, I didn’t know what the best solution was going to be. I figured I would use WordPress for the blogging portion of the site but I was clueless as to what I wanted to use for a commerce solution. I looked around at what the other companies were using to sell their laptop skins and iphone skins but most of them seem to use some type of custom built cart. I tried Magento, but it was to complicated in the theme building arena, Joomla was a nightmare from past experiences, and Drupal didn’t seem too fun the couple of times I used it. So what was I going to do to sell my iPod skins? Thats when a search result showed me BigCartel!

BigCartel is extremely easy to implement in to any standard HTML/CSS layout. Thats a key feature that I was looking for, easy implementation. They have a ton of simple APIs that you can use to pull any attribute to any section of your page. They had three levels of service, FREE, $10, and a $20 per month plan. They provide stats on who visits, keep track of my products, and host product photos of my laptop skins! They have a ton of stores and a great community and are very responsive!

Lost in Space iPhone Skin, Featured!!

Well, we are proud to announce that within the first week of being online and selling our iPhone, iPod and laptop skins that we have made 3 international sales and have been featured on “The Ultimate List of iPhone 3Gs Products: 44 cases, skins and funny accessories“. We have been learning a lot about promoting, trying to figure out what helps drive traffic. It’s that time again, we need to find some new artists for our next run of BoomSkins. We are accepting artists that use all types of mediums as long as you can provide us with a high quality image / file to use on the skins. We take pride in our products so don’t go photoshopping a collage of 15 photos you have to stitch together so you can have a large enough image to send over, it’s not going to work! Take a look at our current iPhone skins and make sure you have something different to offer. Remember that your work will be displayed on iPhones, iPods and Mac laptops that people will tote with them wherever they go. You have an opportunity to display your work all over the world. First 3 iPhone skins sold!

We are super pumped to announce that within 2 hours of launching our site yesterday through BigCartel, we sold 3 skins outside of the U.S. to Russia and Australia. Both items have been shipped out and we can’t wait to hear feedback and see pics! We have put a lot of hard work into making this happen and it makes us extremely excited to see some success so soon.  We will be restocking items as they sell out and adding new talent to the roster very soon. First post!

Well well well. It has been a long time coming. We have been slaving over the design and coding of our new blog and commerce site for the past couple of weeks and there is still soo much to do. We want it to be great for you guys and provide you with as much information and excitement about our products as possible.
